For my style of artwork, it requires that I spend as much time as possible out in the world travelling and exploring to find those unique and interesting subjects that speak to my artistic vision. This has posed a real challenge to Cheri and I as every minute spent outside of the studio is time away from the easel. As my style of painting requires time, patience and persistence to accomplish, any time away from the studio becomes a roadblock to my artistic endeavours. Last spring we had the eureka moment we needed to solve this problem. What we believe to be the answer is to build a custom Mobile Studio/Gallery that will allow us to spend as much time travelling as we want, as the studio will be coming with us. On top of that, the mobile studio will also be used as a gallery allowing us to showcase my paintings from. To make this all happen we have bought a Ford Utilimaster Step Van and have already begun the process of building it to fit our needs. Once the truck is finished we hope to hit the back roads of Canada exploring and painting the lost and forgotten areas that are slowly slipping away. Stay tuned to facebook and this blog page to follow along as we undertake this project of converting an old step van into ‘The Road Less Travelled’ Mobile Art Gallery, or Maggie as she has been nicknamed.
