September 2019

Summer is coming to an end out on the prairies and it has been one of the most memorable summers of my life. This has been one heck of a busy year for us and we are now starting to feel our feet once again firmly under us. The choice to leave our old home in BC and move out to the country in Alberta has been one of the best decisions of our lives. We are in love with our new home and community, as well as the inspiration found for me in the history and heritage of the region. It's been a massive amount of work so far, and we have only really got going on the projects around the home, but we've maintained our smiles the whole way through! Our only show so far this year was Calgary Stampede and we had a fantastic time once again! Thank you to all of you that came out to visit with us and to see my latest work. Since Stampede I have been very busy in the studio creating new paintings for our upcoming show in Bragg Creek as well as a few more Royal Canadian Mint projects to be released next year. The current work on the easel has been focused on the landscape of our new home. There is something special about getting to explore a new area in increasing detail, noticing so much more that is captivating and beautiful with time and exposure. Many people mistakenly think of this area of Alberta as being nothing but flat and although certain areas may be so, there are also amazing locations to discover around every corner as the land drops down in to river valleys and coulees. We have also been doing some light hiking out in the Kananaskis region. Being able to access the Rocky Mountains within an hour from our home has opened up fantastic opportunities for wildlife spotting and amazing mountain vistas. We are excited  once again to be taking part in the Bragg Creek Art Festival with Artists On Tour! The dates are September 27, 28, and 29. Please click the link for all details: https://www.artistsontour.ca/location-hours/ This show has an amazing group of artists taking part in it and should not be missed. I will have some new paintings on display and would love to see you all there!Contact us for invitations and tickets and we'll be sure to help you out!
